SO HERE'S THE DEAL

I’m Lauren — I currently live in Orange County and work as the Lead Copywriter at a large non-profit.

Boring: I’m an extremely proficient writer and editor. And I say “proficient” because the phrase “very amazing and talented” doesn’t seem to ring true to that professional tone I’m trying to strike here. AP style is fine but I still believe that every time you omit an Oxford comma a fairy falls down dead.

(Current grammar pet peeves include: using “everyday” when “every day” was correct, misplaced modifiers, unnecessary “thats,” and using the possessive “’s” in instances such as “Monday’s” and “the Smith’s.”)

I’ve been editing for the past eight years in various settings—for large organizations, digital marketing firms, and for the current non-profit I’m at now. I’m quick to pick up on any new systems and protocols, and can adapt to any style guide with acrobatic ease.

Not as boring:

I’m also a delightful (yet self-deprecating) person who doesn’t take herself too seriously. I can work with a team, help generate great ideas, and also accept feedback—even criticism!—when needed. My greatest weakness? I always sneeze in threes. Oh, and my laugh. It’s loud.

My go-to karaoke song is “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Celine Dion, I’m working on a YA novel in my spare time, I’ve been in the same Dungeons and Dragons campaign since September 2020, and my dream man is Ted Danson circa ’82.

If you want to work together, or would like to discuss Ted Danson further, I’d love to chat!
