Hi, I’m Lauren! I currently live in Orange County and work as the Senior Communications Specialist.

01 — Introduction

I’ve been polishing the brass of my communication skills in the workforce for over a decade now. While my SPF-covered face would tell you otherwise, I’ve been weathered by years of coaching, receiving feedback, going back over my work with a red pen, and staying loyal to the Oxford comma (although I’d be willing to give it up … for a price).

02 — More about me

My communication style spans from talking to my cubicle neighbors about the latest Last of Us episode on Max to coordinating production schedules with executive leadership. I can find common ground with anybody, and in difficult conversations I can deliver the truth with a nuanced but firm touch. Growing up, my parents pulled me into conversations with a lot of “grown-ups,” so I learned to read a room. I use my emotional intelligence to navigate relationships and get by gracefully in professional settings.

In my current role I primarily deal with internal communications for our staff of over 1,000 employees. I organize our monthly all-staff Zoom meetings with four panelists, write talking points for our CEO’s weekly video messages, and help funnel any staff questions that come through our online form.

You might call me a “personality hire,” but for the fact I would also be a “functional hire.” I’m someone you can trust to bring energy into a room, but also get the job done. Once I learn how to do the job, I get it done every time.

I’m an extremely proficient writer and editor. And I say “proficient” because the phrase “very amazing and talented” doesn’t seem to ring true to that professional tone I’m trying to strike here. I’ve spent my career editing in various settings—for large organizations, digital marketing firms, and for the current public agency I’m at now. I’m quick to pick up on any new systems and protocols, and can adapt to any style guide with acrobatic ease.

I’m also a delightful (yet self-deprecating) person who doesn’t take herself too seriously. I can work with a team, help generate great ideas, and also accept feedback—even criticism!—when needed. My go-to karaoke song is “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Celine Dion, I’m working on a fantasy novel in my spare time, I’ve been with the same Dungeons and Dragons party since September 2020, and my dream man is Ted Danson circa ’82.

If you want to work together, or would like to discuss Ted Danson further, I’d love to chat!
